Stove Fire-Brick Replacement Service
The internal fire-bricks of your stove are there to protect the stove body from the heat and are used for their insulative properties, to aid the designed performance of the stove.
The firebricks are a part of the stove that you can expect to replace every so often. This is an entirely normal part of owning and using a wood burner or multifuel stove. Due to the process of repeated heating and cooling, the firebricks become brittle and will eventually crack. When maintenance is neglected, the bricks can fuse to the stove body, or debris can get behind the bricks which creates points where the bricks can crack and break. If neglected for too long they can begin to crumble away completely.
Many stoves require the bricks to be removed to access the flue for cleaning and for this to happen successfully they need to be in a good condition, so that they may be removed intact. Whilst cracks in fire bricks can be filled with specialist fire-cement to extend the life of the firebricks, ultimately they will need replacing.
We provide replacement firebricks and parts for the manufacturers of stoves that we supply and stock in our showroom. Some of these spares are available to order through our website or otherwise by contacting us here. In most instances / for all other manufacturers we recommend finding the parts needed through the stovesparesltd.co.uk website.
Stove Spares Ltd are one off the UK’s largest and leading stove spares suppliers, based off the Honeyborough Roundabout in Neyland. They are an extremely busy company with a small team, so where possible please place all orders through their website after determining the make and model of your appliance and what parts you require.
If you need to find out the make and model of your stove you can use Google image search to help with this. To use Google image search, open Google. On the right-hand side of where you type your search, you will notice that there is a picture of a camera. If you click the camera logo, you will then be able to upload a photo of your stove. Once you have taken the photo or uploaded it from your image library, Google will then search the internet for images which look similar. This should help to enable you to identify the make and model of your stove. You may be presented with a few similar options, so be sure to take time to compare yours to the results, in order to satisfy yourself that you have identified the correct model of stove.
We will usually identify what parts are needed whilst carrying out the advanced chimney sweep and then return to fit the replacement set on the next service. We recommend ordering a full set, as it is likely other fire bricks may break or crumble upon removal if one or more of the bricks has already shown deterioration.
If you already have firebricks that need fitting, please book the advanced chimney sweep below, and in the notes make it clear that you require a sweep and have new bricks ready which need fitting.
