Wood Burning Stoves

Wood burning stoves or 'log burners' have a flat base within the fire chamber rather than a grated base like you'd see on a multifuel stove.   This is because wood burns more optimally on a bed of ashes rather than on a grate, where solid fuels require the airflow from underneath which the grate of a multifuel stove helps to allow for.   

If you have a good supply of wood and don't intent on burning any smokeless briquettes or similar, then opting for a pure wood burning stove may be your best option; but if you plan to burn briquettes and other solid fuels then a multifuel stove may be better for you.
